I’m sorry, but because of recent dilemmas, I’ve needed to add a guide for applications. (This also works for students in the school. If you need to look over an example, use this one first, instead of going straight to other accepted characters.)
Here is an example, please new members, use this as a guide to help you when creating an application.
This wolf is © to Tak. All rights reserved. No replication of said wolf is to take place. It is a federal offence to recreate/copy any of the following.
This application max.s out at five MS Word pages.
---
Name :
Vence.
Age :
Approx. five-six years.
It is unknown, to his actual age.
Gender :
Male.
Rank :
Nomad.
Appearance :
The eyes may lie, and the body is no book to be read, and nor is the mind...Ven' may come on as a...well...
Eyes -
Vence has a pair of delicate brown irises, flecked and sparkled in hazel and amber. Though, they are dark, nearly resembling the set of onyx that Tak so wished himself to have. Deep inside, and tucked away, are secrets. Those of his memories, his loves, his past. But, one thing, not so well hidden behind the shade of brown, is fear. One word resembling a phobia, and his eyes flash and grow wide. Finding what he is afraid of, is no trouble. Finding anything, for that matter--once mentioned--is no trouble. Vence can never really hide anything behind his eyes...
Coat -
His topcoat has a short, coarse covering of fur, colored that of stained sheet metal. Like his brother, Tak, Vence's coat is harsh and rough, and not soothing to the touch. It is prickly, and can easily stand on end with little provocation.
As for coloration. About his back, cranium, and majority of his outer coat--or what the sun touches most at least--this color (a metallic like gray) splashes in many different shades. The silvery hue ranges from a bright sparkle, before burning away to a deep, and dark charcoal in the vicinity of his neck and shoulders.
This color melts away to a pearly white just under his chest and stomach region. The inside of his limbs, both front and back, are as well. His paws, much like his brothers, darken around his toes and ankles.
Build -
His build is medium, but nearing heavy with muscle and brawn. Strong heaps of muscles decorate his shoulders, thighs, and calves... Ven' is not a fighter, unlike his brother Tak, but prefers to laze about; and when not, he enjoys a good run now and then. Running has created his strong stock of muscle (which makes for the most of his weight), as he would rather run than fight.
It would seem that the muscular build--like everything else--would run between brothers. However, it does not. As far as build and muscle go, Vence is a complete opposite. He was built for running, and quickly.
His head is defined, very bony, but well protected with fur.
Markings -
A slight tribal marking decorates his face, just behind the eye, on both sides. Black in color, and very much like a serpentine K. It is decorated with spots and trailing lines, which depict his past, present, and future. (In his history below, you will learn of how he acquired this.)
Other -
Personality :
Shy, quiet, and timid...but perhaps first impressions aren't the best to go on. He may be submissive to those he does not know, or to those that are obviously higher in rank than him; but to those that know him...he is completely different.
Bold, outright, and a perfect parody. That is all there is to say about the second side to Ven', but we may possibly be able to tell a bit more in this sense. When in the presence of a good friend, or a family member (more than likely, one that is not quite so respectable), he can be loud, unnerving, and demanding. Though it is not a sign of his laziness, or an inability to cope with himself, it's simply all fun and games...and, to those that he is closest to, he is most loyal.
Vence is intelligent, and that is no doubt. Though he comes on as shy, his eyes are always studying, moving, and his mind is always working to learn and take in what it can through all the senses. His travels have taught him more than he could have imagined--though they all say that.
He has seen things that even his wildest dreams could not have conjured, and perhaps that is where he comes off as...
Fun, games, and the instinct to be on top, perhaps. To those that are observant, he does show qualities of a willful leader, though his submissive actions toward those that are higher keep these motives at bay.
Vence is observant, and too curious for his own sake at times...in short, he's a dope.
"Oh. Hey...what's this? *Touch* I do believe this object is painful. *Touches again* Indeed it is. I only had to make sure... now, I must confirm this once more! *Touch. Bleeds*"
...The biggest teddy bear, no doubt!
History :
His puphood was willful, and well, and had it not been then he would have obviously suffered a large deal. However, in his younger days, he was well protected from danger; if not his siblings and packmates. During his puppy days, Vence learned the art of love, learning, and play, even if he didn't put all of them to use.
He, like most pups of his day, were born of the alpha pair, and well cared for within the pack situation. Vence had four siblings, a little below the average of the normal litter. He, the second born--second to Tak--was followed by his sister Anyo. However, the third pup died shortly after birth. He was never given a name.
With these two, Tak and Anyo, Vence grew up facing the pitfalls of sibling rivalry. Though, in the beginning it was fun, he soon had to show that he was no pup to push over. Not that this phased Tak. Vence remained the middle sibling; as it was Tak that helped form his personality further.
As all members in this pack--or rather, a tribe--each wolf was dressed with their own special character 'tattoo' at their sixth moon revolution; or month. Tak was the first of their litter to receive one, on the first night of the new moon. Vence's brother was rewarded with the line of four, beneath his eye. The tribe held symbols, and symbolic meanings, true to themselves. Each mark was unique, and was said to have a special meaning, and sign of the future for the individual; as well as an identification tag.
Trickery and deceit was a well-used weapon within the pack, and the outsiders that lurked. The number of wolves was large, and knowing each by name was painstaking. These marks identified the members, their personalities, and their past, present, and future. And because of the lies that were quickly spread, by word and disguise, tattoos were one thing that could not be replicated easily.
Scent was another thing, though it also identified the individual, it could also be altered and hidden. The tribe's markings, numbered the individual, so that sight could be used instead of scent...
Vence was next, and by the second turn of the new moon--he was seven months now--he was rewarded with his mark. Intricate, original, within it, an entire story was formed. He was no longer, Vence the pup, but Vence.
The berries used to create these marks--strong berries, which stained the fur and dyed them for more than twenty-eight seasons. The plant's chemical juices colored the hairs, and could also render a wolf blind, they were so powerful. Those who were marked were permitted to rest for one day and night, no food or water, so that the berry may dry... the skin below is also stained, and becomes raw and numb for several days...
Anyo, at the dawn of her eighth moon, was given her stain. Those that marked the wolves placed her tattoos above her eyes--the marks were never placed here... in the event, the juices that streamed blinded her into her eyes. Though they were painful, and her irises were drained of color, she was still said to be a strong and knowing wolf in her later days. They did not know how she would live.
Growing older, he and his siblings fumbled and learned together; fought and slept together...there could have not been a better family in his eyes. They were all given the mark of prosperous wolves...and Anyo was coping with her blindness rather well.
Tak had the four lines of the alpha's first-born son; if he would not complete the rule of his current pack, he would have to fulfill his mark by moving. As he soon did. This was not his place, and Tak would not hold it to himself to compete with family.
He left.
Vence and Anyo were slightly shaken, to see that the family had been torn by the tale tale tattoos. They were scared, that they too would be torn by a story.
Seasons passed, and his pack moved. Vence and Anyo were now nearing their eighth season--or second year. The prey was beginning to get scarce, and the rivers they used as water sources were drying. It seemed man had taken this part of the forest.
Vence, now with his aging mother and father...as well as his sister, and aunts, uncles, and friends, moved to an area--after trial and error--that seemed to be fine for the moment. The area was large, and would enable the pack to settle according to their mood and individual tastes. There were stale scents, of other wolves, but they had long since gone.
Perhaps they would as well.
He, Vence, found the new land that his family had settled in unnerving in the beginning. He was on edge, and his sleep patterns were disrupted. Starvation seemed only a tiny step away, as he was hardly ever in the mood to eat, and couldn't bring himself to. The pack hardly complained, it was more food for them and the new pups, but his sister did worry.
Though she was blind, she was said to know and read things...and she knew that Vence had to go. To go, anywhere, but here. It was a hard choice. He was the only one that cared for her; in the sense of a loving relationship. Vence was afraid, that she would die.
He was surprised to see that she willed him to go, so much so, that she threatened death upon him if he did not leave soon. (Though, she would not be the one to kill him. He would have died within the moon.)
Vence became a nomad.
He wandered the forests, and clung tightly to the shadow of any tree he could find. He was not willing to suffer the fear and suspicion of another place. He willed himself to learn...
He also thought of his sister, and brother, in his travels.
He wondered, if they were even still alive.
